External Storage Drive Review: Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex

Working at Home

If you’re looking for a simple, portable and reliable way to store and to protect files on your PC, this nifty little external hard drive from Seagate packs a lot of storage into a convenient package. How much is a lot? The Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex drive provides a whopping 1.5 terabytes of space — the highest-capacity external storage drive available.

Our sister site, Hardware Central.com put the GoFlex to the test, and liked what it found. You can check out the full review to see if it suits your storage needs.

Even those who religiously back up their desktop or laptop PCs lose a file or two, if not a whole hard drive’s worth of data, on occasion. Thankfully, there are many ways to protect your important information, with regular backups to a portable hard disk or to the cloud among the most popular nowadays. While we would recommend implementing both methods as a fail-safe, you should leverage at least one on a regular basis.

And if you’re an IT manager at a company (from the smallest of the small to the largest enterprise), why not invest a little extra cash and roll out external hard drives to the fleet of end users and computers under your care? After all, losing data is never fun, especially if you’re the one responsible for making sure that never happens.
