With a 15TB maximum capacity, this $900 (list) product can be used as a NAS only but can also be configured for use as mail, print, media and Web server.
“The DS1511+, available for $900 (list), has features that not only make it an excellent choice NAS device, but as an all-in-one server option for a small to mid-sized business. Besides its NAS functionality, the DS1511+ can also be configured as an email, print, media and Web server. It integrates with Windows Domains and Access Control Lists, making it a good in fit in the typical SMB network infrastructure.
With a maximum internal storage capacity of 15TB, users can add even more storage via the USB 2.0 and eSATA ports on the NAS. Synology also offers it’s DX510 expansion unit which can hold up to 15 hard disk drives. The DS1511+ was among the fastest performing NASes tested in PCMag’s labs with Write speeds averaging 60 Mbps and Reads averaging 55 Mbps.”
