The New York Times: New Faster MacBook Pros From Apple
Apple refreshes its top-of-line laptops with better graphics and faster chips – Intel’s Core i5. Prices range from $1,200 to $2,300.
“Hard on the heels of iPad-mania and a new update for the iPhone operating system, Apple continues to ride the product wave this month (and it’s only half gone) with the introduction of upgraded MacBook Pro notebook computers that the company says will run at faster speeds and with longer battery lives.
The revamped line ranges in size from 13 to 17 inches, with the 15- and 17-inch models running Intel’s speedy Core i5 processing chips and a new switching technology that allows the computer to toggle between a pair of graphics chips inside the machine. One is tuned for energy efficiency — for Web surfing or reading e-mail messages — and the other is for high-performance, graphics-intensive applications like editing video or playing games.”
